An Early Attempt at Photo Stacking

This image is one of my first successful attempts with photo stacking. I used CombineZP, a free program to stack three photos. While there is some distortion at the edges, I hope to make many more attempts in the future with better results. You can never complain too much when the software is free.
 

#3377 Eastbound in 1951

 

Great Northern O-8 Mikado #3377 heads east towards Minneapolis Junction on the Willmar Line in western Minnesota in August of 1951. Great Northern steam locomotives sported dark green boilers and occasionally mineral red cab roofs until October 1950. After that, GN shops painted them black on company orders to reduce maintenance.

X572 rides the tail of eastbound Extra #3377 as it heads towards Minneapolis Junction in September of 1950.

The Country Stop

The produce stands in central Minnesota are ready for business with the 1950 fall harvest not far behind.

Extra 3202 East

First stab at a Photoshop image. I will work on focus stacking photos in the near future hopefully.

Photo - GN O-3 Class Facelift

My first modification to my Broadway GN Heavy Mikado. These were placed in the GN O-3 Class and heavily modified after WWII. My first detail change was to add flying pumps, relocate the headlight, and the addition of numberboards. More changes are on the way as I find the time to work on it. Photo by Sean Murphy.
